tgptndr, It may well forget everything, and become a brain dead lump. A hot cycle and a coold down may well clear all memory, BIOS etc. Phone works...if you restore it's lost programs, not just phone numbers in memory.

Anyone who works in the cel industry will know if this is a problem or not with current parts

Same thing that happens if the bios on your PC gets erased (or incorrectly programmed). There's nothing wrong with it, but it's still useful only as a doorstop or boat anchor until you replace the bios chip with one that has a boot program in it.
