Whatever happened to past graphic push from Intel? Somewhere in mid 90's Intel got too carried away with Rambus RDRAM memory and completely missed a generation of CPU chipset for the entry level systems based around SDRAM that would have been released post y2K. The first CPU chipset with graphics support was the LX form about 1995, which also had some Rambus based memory in it but was not sucess but more of a ploy by Intel Capital to trigger granting of Rambus stock warrants. The frist major generation of CPU chipsets with graphics by Intel, which were very popular in 98 and 99, was the the 810 and 810e chipsets. I think you remember the high market share, lofty slaes gains and resulting piles of free cash flows that Intel had the late ninities to give you some idea about upcoming Intel revuenes gains and possible losss in revuenues for NVDA. Alas the 810 family of chipsets became totally obolute about a year ago and Intel has been scramlinhg to regian the lost market shares that VIA, ATI and NVDA picked up.
