The focus was on the billing systems of the carriers and the impact that may play in potential mergers. The 2 main billing systems providers are Amdocs and Convergys. Cingular, Voicestream, and Nextel all use Amdocs ATT uses Convergys (I think PCS does also) Verizon also uses Convergys, and the article stated that Verizon is open to buying a GSM carrier. The article then speculated on the possibility of a Verizon - ATT merger due to compatible billing systems. Can this happen? Can you imaging the shock to the GSM world if it did? How high would QCOM go once the inevitable dominance of CDMA becomes more clear? Comments. ======== GSM1X?

That's why it is a prudent strategy to get the hell out in by June. The numbers I am referring to are technical patterns mostly. However, increasing consumer debt levels, increasing unemployment, increasing bullishness...and the recent emotional rally we have seen in tech stocks...all tell me risk is high. wr
