In order for that to happen AMD will have to have the clearly superior product across most of the application spectrum...constantly...for 3 years. While AMD has had periods with superior product in a narrow area of application they have never been able to keep it together long. I doubt seriously that Intel would allow hammer to hammer them that long before they scrambled to a x-86-64 bit
chip. Since they are already working on one...I'm sure they are covering themselves in the event it looks like it might get away from them.
OK..and Thoroughbred is looking more and more like AMD doesn't care if it comes out or not. Apparently they are putting most resources to Hammer.
