The answer is that everyone likes to be labeled correctly according to his or her own views, not according to someone else's cartoons.

I can't remember one liberal doing that either. Do you remember 1976 and the Nobel prize for economics to Milton Friedman??!! You've heard of him?! You've heard of John Locke?!

Liberalism is the default basis of democracy, freedom, and human rights. However, traditional liberalism has morphed into the utilitarian purpose of Government in promoting the sanctity of the individual. This creates a conflict: violating individual dignity and freedom in order to preserve and honour it?

This is why I am neither Liberal nor Conservative. The Liberal goal is certainly right. It is the means which causes disagreement. Ideally, human compassion should trump any silly Government pretentions. But ideally, humans should have compassion...
