I think you don't credit the unhappiness and anxiety CH has caused to Poet and her husband. Why you don't, when the viciousness of CH's obsessive campaign has been there for you to see, I don't know. I can only assume that it is another case of our old friend, The Effect of Motivation On Perception. It has been cruel, and had its effect. Of course you think the now-withdrawn proposal was "too restrictive." You trust CH. You don't think what he's done is vile. I suspect that, like Dithers, you to some degree blame his victim. You aren't helping CH by making him believe that there might be some hope that the window of opportunity for sexy-to-him mischief would be left open for him.

He had the opportunity to choose that route in November. As you know, when he thought he couldn't, he claimed that was all he wanted to do ("make impersonal allusions to intellectual points raised, without direct address," as you say). Once Dithers explained how he could, in fact, do exactly that, he dropped the pretense and continued his organized campaign of terror using knowledge gained through privileged information given him in confidence to harass his victim almost whenever and wherever she, at long last, felt safe enough to participate in everyday life on SI. You have chosen to overlook the intentional, sustained and sadistic campaign of psychological torture by pretending that an organized and highly personal attack on one individual is less despicable than the mad ravings of an obvious lunatic like EV, who spews his hate-filled message against all and sundry to no effect. When not overlooking it, you joined him in sullying her reputation by presuming some sort of sexual dalliance, or mutual flirtation, in her private messages without one shred of evidence to back it up and despite her very public attempts to avoid any such conversation with him. The man is a proven liar, probably the only publicly proven liar posting here. Instead of recognizing him for the highly impeachable source that he is, you have apparently accepted whatever he writes as if it were gospel, pandering to his sick attempts to exercise some type of perverted control over another human being. Shame be upon on you. Shame and damnation.
