I gotta tell you - the stories you guys print here continue to amaze me. Even though I was on equity trading desks for 15 years - I had no idea this stuff really went on. It wasn't as blatant on the instit. side. It all shares an incredible amount of outright stupidity. Although I saw plenty of shady stuff. Do you guys remember Alan Bond? Used to be on Ruyckeyser's (sp) show - had a firm called Bond Procope. Stole flagrantly from his clients - bunch of dumb money Taft Hartley type accounts, unions, municipal workers that mandated using minority owned firms (Mr. Bond is African Amer). Last I heard he was still on trial. I handled a ton of his trading in the mid 90's - almost went to work for him. They guy was making a fortune - all he had to do was index and sit back and collect his 50 basis points. Was not enough for him. Hell of a nice guy, beautiful wife, pleasant kids. All gone and then some. TD
