goldworldnet, Ask the 40 million Americans who are denied basic medical coverage if they live in the best country in the world. They might care to differ with your over-broad comment about what "best" really means. <smile> Does the US have the best pensions for the middle class - NO. Does the US have the lowest infant mortality rates? NO. Does the US have the most equitable income distribution? NO. Does the US have the largest percentage prison population. YES Does the US execute innocent people? YES Does the US coddle criminals like Ken Lay? YES How can you say we're the best when all the warts are so easy to spot? I prefer to say that this country offers a lot of people opportunities they wouldn't have elsewhere, but that even there, there is a glass ceiling. Will a Muslim African-American woman be President in our lifetimes? Impossible to imagine. Equality is relative, eh? -Ray
