Interesting ... sound like a bunch of utter sleazeballs, eh ... so what else is new ... i had it exactly backwards in that post to which you are responding, btw, it is the frankenfood outfit suing the farmer from Alta-Saskatoba for infringing on their patent [!!], and the farmer's suit is merely to counter that hey, he couldn't do much to prevent their pollen blowing in, could he ... or something like that ... there was a piece on cbc radio on this only days ago .... cbc has a section on this and their search works quite well [i have to go now, back later] - cbc.ca [edit] - also, i had recently a long conversation on teosinte with my cousin who is an agricultural inspector very near the river Usumacinta, he believes that both maize and its predecessors have been infected well into Guatemala by now, and there is nothing anybody can do about it, except try to save the original species under controlled conditions [which is very difficult, just try to grow maize under cover where outside pollen cannot blow in - good luck under the tropic sun] ... his boss worked in Canada once, and is well aware of the problem, just can't do much about it .... later ... cheers
