Actually, I'm not at all fond of any of the examples cited- -left or right. But education is inevitably social engineering. Unavoidably. The decision as to whether or not to teach at all or to teach algebra or sex education are social engineering. Remember, 50 years ago the thought of schools teaching sex education would have been considered totally outrageous - no matter what tack they took. The introduction of such courses may not have caused that revolution n the '60s, but they certainly helped it along.

So for any course there are many possible tilts. The decision of which to take is a social engineering decision.

Algebra? That indicated a tilt towards tech. A course in say, medieval French literature could have been taught instead.
