Dan3:

"Intel has no competitive flash technology, its mainstream processors are dead ended at 32-bits, and its 64-bit CPU technology is the mutated offspring of a laboratory experiment. Without binaries from multipass, data optimizing compiler code like that used in canned SPEC runs - impossible in normal, production software - Itanic performance is terrible and it continues to be a large, very expensive chip to produce.

Intel is facing brick walls in CPUs and flash. They've built all these great FABs (at very great expense), and haven't anything to produce in them.

Univac, Wang, Osborne, and now Intel."

Pretty much sums up the evilving landscape...Because what you have said is factually irrefutable, get ready for the "red herring" deluge...Expect the INTC choir to pull out the historical eps tables in defense of INTC's squalid current performance...With imminent Hammer and the unveiling of MirrorBit, as you say: "Intel is facing brick walls in CPUs and flash."

FY03 could well be comparable to FY00 for AMD in both revenues and operational earnings...For INTC, with tItanic, p(etered out)4 and strapped, I mean strata, flash, FY03 is probably much more dubious...
