Joel, The troops grumble, but as many accept most of the party line as don't. Very few follow me, though they like to hear my insane ideas. Some can go golds. Many can go energy. A few can hack international, though they prefer the bigger cos. But, so far, no takers on Japan Small Cap or European Warrant. At one confab, a top producer told me, when I mentioned JOF, "well, I was believing you until you mentioned that name. There is no way Japanese small cos. are going up and they're likely to go belly-up." He's right. 75% up in 5 months or so is pretty paltry. <g> Now, if he'd said it about EWF, he may have had a case. I just can't get a spark out of that one. But I continue to rub sticks together.

All think the idea of buying options, puts or calls, is insane. In some ways it makes me sad. In other ways, I think, "hey, no competition." I have heard, at least 400 times, that covered calls are the most conservative way to use options. When did they repeal all the laws of mathematics? The same folks would croak at the thought of selling puts. Same strategy, of course, and not a bad one, but neither the lowest risk nor always the best strategy.

Or, as one woman broker told me, at least I don't have enough accounts yet to lose too much money. Her buy of IBM at $110 is no loss. She knows it is coming back. <g>

Now that I'm cranking the futures trading up, I think I may be voted off the island.
