You know I can't imagine being so much of an actor in your own life that you need to carry around a prop like a dummy cell phone. That's like an adult carrying around a doll baby or something. Oh please, tell me people don't do that.

Funny story about the dummy phone. The short movie which I saw is about "potato phones"... cellphones made out of potatoes which people walk around talking to, screaming at, etc... It was very well done.

What I've noticed about the phones is that people talk to them in the most bizarre way.. tons of hand gestures, scowls, loud and dramatic statements. Very strange. I mean, I've used one occasionally.. usually to let my husband know what lake I've launched my canoe at when I take off paddling alone for the day.. but a "poor connection" doesn't explain what seems to be a "performance" quality. I'm quite a tolerant person, but I find this kind of thing obnoxious under certain circumstances. It almost seems like the ultimate in decadence. That and $250 non-prescription sunglasses. Better not get me started on THAT one though!
