I'm just watching a male Rose-breasted Grosbeak eating sunflowers out of the feeder against the window next to my desk. You should see how he does that. He picks up a seed and with a few little nibbles, the shell breaks apart and drops off to the side and *gulp*..the seed kernel is gone. Very elegant.

He's my favourite bird. He looks like a little black, white and red parrot. He's one of the only birds that seems to notice me on the other side of the window pane. Most of them seem to just see their own reflections in the glass. This dude is different. He has smarts. And, he has a very laidback personality. In fact, he's actually gotten to feel so "at home" that he comes over to the glass and stares into the room to see if I'm around.

"Hey, Lady!! Did you notice that the sunflower seeds are getting kind of low?!!"

He has a funny little face with very quizzical eyes. He gives me an appraising glance as I come up to stand against the window to take his picture.

"That'll be $2.00 please!" he remarks as he preens himself.

"What?"

"Two dollars if you want to take my picture!"

Did I tell you he is quite a comedian? No?
See, I really *do* talk to the birds. (o:

We have a cast of talented and experienced actors here. Maybe we can put on a SHOW! In the barn. (Call me Judy)

You can be either the scenery or the orchestra. Croc will play the lead.
Of course this necessitates writing a play about a goat.
X can direct because of all her new teaching credentials.
Then I have to write in a part for a large SHirley Temple singing "Let the Sun Shine In"-- with GESTURES.

Maybe a penetrating social commentary on cellphones.

It could work.
