ChuckaBayStatecornerbay.com News ReleaseAugust 27, 2001 "BAY" - TSE FEASIBILITY STUDY UPDATE ALAMO DORADO, MEXICO. Toronto - The following is a summary of ongoing work in connection with the Feasibility Study the Company is currently completing on its Alamo Dorado Silver/Gold Property located in Sonora, Mexico. AMEC Simons Mining and Metals is conducting a feasibility study on behalf of the Company. The Company has recently completed a series of diamond drill holes to provide material for geotechnical test purposes necessary to complete the engineering and mine design required for the feasibility. Reverse circulation drilling is also being completed in a series of hydrogeological drill holes designed to determine the local availability of water, applicable flow rates and water chemistry. Additionally, drilling will begin in the near future to condemn areas for locating heap leach pads and waste stockpiles. Although this drilling is not designed to enhance the known deposit it is necessary for the feasibility study. Recent site investigations and ongoing soil test work are underway to locate an area for the permanent heap leach pad. At this stage one permanent pad is visualized that would have excess capacity for additional tonnes should further exploration identify a larger deposit.Further metallurgical test work is underway at Metcon Research Inc., which has shown improved recoveries for the Phase 1 Pit material where two column leach tests have been continued over 379 days and have averaged just over 80% recovery for silver and 87 % for gold. Silver and gold were still being leached when this column testing was terminated. Results for the Overall Deposit material was once again confirmed with silver recoveries averaging 65% and gold averaging 75%. Metcon reports that this test work also confirmed that lift height does not appear to have an impact on silver and gold extraction as recent results from 1.5 and 6 meter high columns have similar extractions. Moreover, recent column test work, that was not agglomerated has shown similar extraction rates to material that was agglomerated indicating that the Alamo Dorado ores may not need to be agglomerated for heap leaching. Test work is ongoing in this area. Additional lock-cycle column tests are underway to determine more accurately reagent consumptions, residual metal content as well as the composition of waste and heap materials. AMEC Simons will review the Metcon results for use in the feasibility study once the testwork is completed. All necessary environmental studies are underway and are expected to be completed under AMEC Simons' schedule. In light of the higher recoveries in the starter (Phase 1 Pit) area, coupled with the recent decline in silver price, MINTEC Inc. will be developing an updated mine plan and schedule. This new resource/reserve study will be used for the final feasibility study. AMEC Simons will review the MINTEC results for use in the feasibility study upon completion of the mine plan. The engineering work is progressing favorably and the Company anticipates the study's completion in the first quarter of 2002 as scheduled. The Company has initiated talks with several traditional lenders to the mining industry and the project has been favorably received. The scope of the feasibility study has been planned to meet the technical needs of the banks and financial institutions. Corner Bay Silver Inc. is a Canadian exploration and mining company that is active directly and indirectly with partners in Canada, the United States and Mexico. And the latest is nice: MINTEK , I met the President who came in from South Africa at the Royal York ouside with his displays and we talked 15 mins and later on the floor of the PDAC in March in Toronto, say MORE RECOVERIES I suspect after reading there handouts on ORE RECOVERIES: I did not said any special info just general on ore augmentations all in the Mintec Brouchures after scanning the above NR talking 77% going up to 80-90ish percentage og metal recovery. I have the WEB SITE: Whoa THE MISS SPELT Mintek? Or as MINTEC a different one...or is it a different company I heard of another OK < scratch I will leave in in case it was a typo on CB NR section mintek.co.za EDIT a check:mintec.com HERE IT is DIFFERENT than the FAMOUS So African one:"".. For 30 years MINTEC has offered the services of a full staff of experienced mining engineers, geologists, programmers, and technical support specialists. Our focus is the design, development, and implementation of our mining software, MineSight®, a comprehensive, state-of-the-art, 3-D system offering maximum flexibility and power for geologic modeling and mine planning.
