I don't know why you want hydrogen, but for energy supplies for vehicles, I think crude oil is the winner for the next 30 years. But with some encroachment from other things for special applications.

Smashing hydrogen off hydrocarbons is how refineries get hydrogen for hydrogenation to make good quality petrol. That leaves them with heavy aromatics and other goop, which they burn in power stations.

That's the most efficient source [meaning low cost], but no good if you just want a kilogram of hydrogen.
