Afternoon hdl,

<<should vanguard pay more for research and pass it on to its members- or keep their expenses so low?>>

I don't have a clue what Vanguard is doing or should do about research or expenses. I suspect that like most mutual funds, they are run by Mom & Pops who try to do the best they can with what they have, which is quite a bit. ...But if I want to risk my money on Mom & Pop investments, I'd just as soon do it my way,... painful though it may be. <vLg>

<<is it a good bet to bet circuit court will reverse as if it affirms rmbs stock will go down 30% and if it reverses rmbs stock will go up 300%+?>>

Do you really think that 30% is as much as you can lose if the Circuit Court affirms? RMBS has over 99 million shares out there. By the time the Fraud decision is entered INTC will be selling dual DDR chipsets and may well already be redesigning a new CPU to replace the P4 that's far more DDR friendly simply to combat the threat of "Hammer," let alone free themselves from the any possibility of having to pay RMBS more royalties after the current license expires. If so would you expect them to start talking about it on Hammer's release? I sure would.

As a lawyer, I don't have any objection to discounting "litigation" in the course of making investment decisions. But I would never consider making it the determining factor in the process, ...unless the "investment" were a law firm partnership. <Hoo Hoo>

I just don't see a difference between taking that 30% you're willing to lose and using it to buy lottery tickets.
