We don't get involved in technical analysis and trying to project future market values - doing so is too complicated for us. We're content to leave that sort of work to analysts and financial reporters.

Instead, at footprintstocks.com we try to "follow the money".

Although one day does not make a trend, it was interesting to note that on Friday - even though the price went up - there was 21% more volume on downticks than on upticks - excluding block trades – for AMAT. However, more noteworthy, there was 65% more volume on downticks than on upticks for block trades of 10,000 or more.

Block trades typically represent institutional investors - and there are those who believe that institutional investors are more sophisticated and smarter than individual investors.

We'll continue to watch this daily to see if these ratios persist.
