Tom, I am too much of a gentleman to call you an idiot, so -- in the words of Ari Fleischer, I will not -- not-- call you an idiot. And given your inability to navigate the English language, I know that this is rather hopeless, but here again are the quotes and the links from which they come. And again I did not link to CNN. It is the Washington Post article that mentions CNN. Again, however, I am fairly confident at this point that you are unwilling -- or more likely incapable -- of making such basic distinctions. And now, for the sake of the sanity of both of us, you are again on ignore. Enjoy.

"Sen. Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala.), a Senate intelligence committee member who is overseeing a probe into pre-Sept. 11 lapses, told CNN yesterday that "the FBI has failed the American people. . . . The FBI was either asleep or inept or both.""

"It was not only Democrats who expressed concern. "There was a lot of information," said Sen. Richard C. Shelby (Ala.), the top Republican on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. "I believe, and others believe, if it had been acted on properly, we may have had a different situation on September 11th.""

"Members of the congressional committees investigating the pre-Sept. 11 warnings said yesterday that there is far more damaging information that has not yet been disclosed about the government's knowledge of and inaction over events leading up to Sept. 11.

"We've just scratched the surface," said Sen. Richard C. Shelby (Ala.), ranking Republican member of the Senate intelligence committee."

"Sen. Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala.), ranking minority member on the Senate Intelligence Committee, said on NBC's "Today" that the FBI "could have done a better job, especially in headquarters here in Washington" in tying together the information that was at hand. "We were aware of that general warning that the president got," Shelby said. "It was not specific in its content. But you tie them together with other warnings and I believe you have a lot to work on.""
