Bill:

Refer to milo #80303...

"First of all, I would like to point out that the tables contain some info about the Athlon XP processors on 0.13micron Thoroughbred core. It once again proves that these CPUs are about to come out very soon now (some time in early June). As it follows from the table above, Athlon XP on the new core will have ratings from 1700+ up to 2200+. All of them will be designed to support 266MHz bus, and their Vcore will vary between 1.5V-1.65V depending on the clock frequency.

The second surprise appeared the presence of Athlon MP 2100+ on Thoroughbred core. This CPU is most likely to be announced together with Athlon XP built on this 0.13micron core.

Moreover, I would like to draw your attention to Athlon SFF processors on Palomino and Thoroughbred cores mentioned in the OPN table. It means that Athlon SFF should also be announced very soon. As you might have already learned, Athlon SFF (Small Form Factor) is a new AMS solution designed for quiet fanless PCs. As we see, from the table, these CPUs will feature lower Vcore and will be rated up to 2000+. Athlon SFF is expected to work in a special processor socket different from the current Socket A.

OPN table for the Duron CPUs hides another surprise for us. As we see, Duron processors on Palomino core are to come out in the nearest future. Although it is only about Mobile Durons so far, this is anyway a good start. Later on, Athlon XP cores will little by little move to desktop Duron processors.

Summing up I would like to say that it seems very soon new AMD processors are about to start streaming down on us as from a real horn of plenty. Get ready! :)"

Sounds like AM<D is in a heap of trouble...but Elmer told you so...hehehe!!!
