Read the source; not the interpretation.

If Shari'a is universally interpreted one way by Islamic judges from Nigeria to Pakistan, what does it matter if your personal interpretation of the original Quranic verses says something different? I didn't make up the requirement for four male Muslim witnesses to prove a rape; I have seen it described in every Shari'a rape trial, in Afghanistan under the Taliban, in Nigeria, and in this latest Pakistani case. Are you saying the judges have all got Islamic law wrong? On what authority?

<<Again, Read the source; not the interpretation.>>

AE, that is good advice. Too often interpretation skews the message. The problem I see is that in most things religious, interpretations become all. How is the curse of Allah manifested? Is any random bit of bad luck a sign? If he pulls a pistol and shoots the wife, is that the curse? Must she rely on divine intervention to make the gun missfire? I do not ask these questions too poke fun of you or Islam. The Will Of God has been invoked in most confrontations by both sides, how do we get a clear 'view' of it? Do we just wait till there is a winner and then know it? If I was a betting man, I would rather pull the trigger than to pray for a missfire.....
Christians in the US had witch hunts, and the witches were given tests that were hard to survive. Stuff like load her with rocks and toss her in a deep pool. if she floats, she is a witch. Hell of a choice, between a drowned woman and a proven witch. No win situation for the one on trial.
