Hi all,

Got a call from my brother last night asking some very basic questions...but I could not answer him....so I thought I would come to the font of computer knowledge for an answer.

He is looking to get a laptop. He is interested in getting a DVD drive on the laptop so that it can be used as a portable DVD player. He is looking at both Gateway and Dell.

1. Would the difference from a 1.2 Gigahertz Pentium and a 1.06 Gigahertz Pentium be noticeable?

2. How much video ram would you like to see on the video card if the one of the purposes is to use as a portable DVD player?

Anything else specific to a laptop that he should know?
