HP and 24 Hour Fitness Unveil Technology Discounts for Nearly 3 Million Exercise Enthusiasts
Agreement to Promote Growth of Technology Use Among Fitness Members
PALO ALTO & PLEASANTON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 20, 2002--HP (NYSE:HPQ - News) and 24 Hour Fitness today announced an agreement that will allow close to 3 million members of 24 Hour Fitness, the world's largest privately owned fitness chain, to exercise discounts on HP computer technology.

"This agreement demonstrates our desire to provide our members benefits and additional value beyond their gym membership," said Brian Bouma, president, 24 Hour Fitness, USA. "HP is a familiar name at 24 Hour Fitness and the combined technology of the now merged company is a powerful force to run not only our IT infrastructure, but to promote the growth of technology for our membership.

"We believe that this new relationship with HP will afford both new and existing fitness members access to computer products and technology they might not otherwise take advantage of."

HP is a key technology provider for 24 Hour Fitness, supporting its worldwide operations with enterprise infrastructure hardware and technology solutions -- from storage to industry standard servers to desktop PCs.

New and existing 24 Hour Fitness club members will be able to benefit from special discounts on HP's commercial and consumer products, as well as quarterly promotions found on the 24hourfitness.com Web site. A special link will allow members access to a rewards site for ordering HP technology.

"HP believes that embracing technology is important to members of 24 Hour Fitness centers throughout the world, people who are also mobile workers, corporate employees, entrepreneurs or stay-at-home parents," said Leigh Morrison, general manager, HP West Region. "We want to make technology available to each and every one of them."
