"And how come we used the bomb on the Japanese but not the Germans?"

Because they surrendered before it was ready? Make no mistake, Berlin would have been target number 1 if Germany hadn't surrendered in time.

You are right.......the Germans surrendered in May, 1945 and the Japanese were bombed in Aug., 1945. Given the shortness of time between the two surrenders, I thought the Japanese had gotten preferential treatment as in the case of the fire bombing of Tokyo. However, the first atom bomb was not detonated until 7/45, two months after Germany surrendered.

BTW the fire bombing of Tokyo was far more deadly and destructive than the atom bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. However, it took many bombers to deliver 'the goods' to Tokyo but only one bomber each for Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

"Israel would have a lot to lose, the Palestinians much less. Whose fault is that?"

Primarily Arafat. Is this a trick question?

If you still think Arafat is the primary cause, then it is a trick question.
