I agree with your statements completely. Businesses went through a tremendous upgrade cycle in 1998/99 (getting ready for Y2K), flushing out the old machines. Any machines bought in that timeframe (and I have a P3/500 bought in 1999 as well, and a P3/600 laptop bought in early 2000) work just fine with all the latest MS OS and office software (I'm running W2K with Office XP on both). They'll be fine for quite a while.

If they want better performance, they'll add more memory.
