OT I have a mediterranean look and have had my baggage hand inspected on almost every flight I have been on since 9/11. Doesnt bother me. If I have to face extra scrutiny to ensure a repeat of 9/11 does not happen, so be it.

Agree, being careful is not racism at least until the world situation improves significantly (which might be a while).

That is my point with the 3 people that got arrested but were later released. They faced the scrutinty. If there was any doubt, there is no chance they would have been let go. I would say they were probaby not of Islamic background. Had they been Muslim, you can bet they would have been held a lot longer.

My problem is not with the police asking people questions. It is really about racist individuals using the present situation to further their own agendas...and be able to get lots of public support.
That would be racism at work.
