Nadine, good observations. But the world of politics is very complex. I am speculating that the West (US, EU, ...) will engineer the Palestenian elections to foist Hassam Abdel Kader. And then that will force the hands of Israel to abandon the settlements and withdraw to the 1967 line. But Osama's proxy (Hamas) could upset all the plans and I bet the Israelis are hoping that that happens and suicide attacks continue. If that happens then the hawks within Israel will get stronger and push even harder for a military solution.

Just one person's point of view: mine

The Guardian etc will be lamenting about Palestinian and Arab humiliation with US checkpoints very soon. Even more so if the latest terror reports come to fruition.
Not that the Guardian hasn't already.

I think they hate their British Imperialist past so much that they can't tell the difference between self defense against terror and good old British colonialism and subjugation.
