Do you doubt that you would hear similar stories from "poor white trash" were they given the advantages and assistance available from affirmative action? Why should such a thing be at all race-based? I don't think it should be race-based, as I've made clear. But I don't understand your first sentence. Are you saying you don't believe that blacks were discriminated against in employment on the basis of race for many decades, but are just claiming this? IMO race-based affirmative action gives benefits to some, as you say, but at great cost, and not only to whites.
