Actrade Says SEC and Nasdaq Making Inquiries; Shares Fall

New York, June 13 (Bloomberg) -- Actrade Financial Technologies Ltd.'s shares fell as much as 27 percent after the electronic finance and payment company said it's the subject of inquiries by the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Nasdaq Stock Market.

Actrade shares fell $3.01, or 23 percent, in early trading after falling as much as $3.47.

The company, based in New York, didn't elaborate on the probe in a press release distributed by PR Newswire. It said it hasn't been told that it's the target of any formal investigation. Company officials couldn't immediately be reached for comment.

New York-based Actrade is a provider of online-payment systems and data-management services.

Actrade shares have dropped 69 percent in the past year
