Pearly, it was widely understood by respected economists of the day that Montagu Norman convinced Ben Strong to persue an easy money policy to help Britain. See Benjamin Andersen's " Economic and the Public Welfare" available at Liberty Press. Lionel Robbins - respected Austrian economist at the London School of Economics expressed similar views in his 1934 book " The Great Depression" . Hjalmar Schacht- Governor of the Reichsbank and Charles Rist - Deputy Governor of the Bank of France made statements which also reflected this view. mike
