Hi Patricia,

Re: DO either of you find it a coincidence that Karen Hughes quit right before the recent questions

From what I've read, Ms. Hughes was very adept at controlling the flow of information to the media. The leak to CBS last Thursday was certainly something that she worked ceaselessly to prevent.

Re: I am inclined to believe that she knew this was coming and bailed

Somehow I think it's really simpler. Ms. Hughes understands her celebrity. Much as George Stephanopoulos used his role in the Clinton White House to bootstrap into a phat gig at ABC, Ms. Hughes will probably have already signed her contract with FoxNews Network.

Re: Kind of think the truth may be ugly!!!!

And that is, of course, why we will never get the truth from the White House or its minions, except from leakers. I can only imagine the full court press going on right now in the White House to seek and destroy the snitch.

I sure don't know if the Truth may be Ugly. But the election sure is going to be...... that and long. <g>

Ciao!
