Posts Q1 net of $0.14 a share, $0.03 better than the Multex consensus, vs yr-ago EPS of $0.08. Sales rose 3% to $2.74 bln (consensus $2.787 bln). Reaffirms Q2 outlook. Raises full yr view to $0.79-$0.83 (consensus $0.80).


08:54 ET BWA Borg Warner boosts Q2 and FY02 outlook (62.76)
Co raises its Q2 earnings forecast to a range of $1.55-$1.65, compared to the current Multex consensus of $1.38. BWA boosts its earnings guidance for the full yr by 10% to $5.50 (consensus $5.10).


08:31 ET QCOM Qualcomm reaffirms Q3 outlook (31.89)
Co sees Q3 earnings of $0.21-$0.23 (consensus Multex $0.22) and expects revenues to increase 3-6% sequentially. For 2002, QCOM sees EPS of $0.90-$0.95 (consensus $0.90) and rev growth of 4-8%.


08:11 ET NT Nortel wireless biz showing strength-- UBS (2.59)
UBS Warburg says that channel checks suggest NT's wireless biz (40% of sales) is showing better-than-expected strength and could grow by 5%-10% sequentially in Q2, firming up the top and bottom lines; also, NT trading at low end of valuation vs peers, which firm believes already discounts a large part of the potential dilution of up to 17-26% of any equity or convertible offering. Price target is $4.20.


07:52 ET HD Home Depot exceeds consensus by $0.03 (48.50)
Reports Q1 earnings of $0.36 per share, $0.03 better than the Multex consensus. Revenues rose 17.1% year/year to $14.28 bln vs the $14.40 bln consensus. HD expects to meet current Wall Street consensus for Q2.


07:18 ET MSFT Microsoft to spend $2 bln on Xbox Live (54.01)
Announces a $2 billion commitment for Xbox Live, a next-generation content and ongoing innovation of the platform. At launch, a one-yr subscription to Xbox Live will be $49.95. The starter kit will also include an Xbox Communicator that plugs into the Xbox controller and facilitates all voice communication with other players, and Acclaim (AKLM 4.73) racing game "ReVolt."

06:49 ET DY Dycom cable customer suspends projects (14.00)
Forecasts Q3 earnings of $0.14-$0.16 vs previous guidance of $0.10-$0.15 (Multex consensus $0.13). However, co announces that it has been notified by a major cable customer to suspend work on substantially all of that customer's projects. Revenues from this customer were approximately 18% of Dycom's revenues for its quarter ended April 27. DY expects this suspension of work to impact Q4 and fiscal 2003 results...
