"Message is be dumb, not curious.Life is simpler that way, "don't worry be happy",bah bah bah sheep, moo, moo, moo, cows."

As an example, look at how people address the "gurus" on SI. Vast majority want the answer to a simple question: "Is stock/index XYZ going to go up or down?". A small percentage ask a better question like "what techniques do you use to decide if stock/index XYZ is likely to be going up or down?"

Max, public schools have always been a tool of government to achieve its political goals, from ancient Sparta to Christian Rome to Royalist France to communist Russia. In the US in the last 80 years, the left has tried to use the schools to destroy our knowledge of our capitalist culture. In their opinion, our educators are not doing a 'rotten' job, they are on target to undercut the primary capitalist culture that exists in the world today. There is a book published recently, called 'Market Education' (I can't remember the author and don't have the book on hand) that details the history of public education.

Education has flourished, historically, when it is paid for and controlled by the parents, as they are free to set the standards and the agenda to train the minds of their children to function effectively.
