Nokia to Take 10 Pct Stake in U.S. Redback

HELSINKI (Reuters) - Finnish telecom equipment maker Nokia (NOK1V.HE) said on Wednesday it would take a 10 percent stake in U.S. Redback Networks (NasdaqNM:RBAK - News) as part of a drive to boost its broadband product business.

No financial details were given, but Nokia said it had an option to raise its stake to less than 20 percent.

"Nokia and Redback will expand their existing commercial relationship to include global distribution of wireline intelligent edge and broadband access products," Nokia said in a statement.
