Coca Cola (and KO's management) "managed" their share price to (in my opinion) an insanely high level a a few years back.

Everyone applauded KO's approach (probably because Warren Buffett said it was "great.")

Jon.

I am far from an old timer like many on this board, (so my premise could be wrong), but I wonder why Qualcomm feels it is necessary to so actively defend their stock price by holding mid quarter press conferences (or releasing mid quarter information) so often. If CDMA and Qualcomm are truly going to rule the world, why not let the stock price just take its course?

Nearly every tech company now holds a mid-quarter update.

Actually....Qualcomm does not have a regularly scheduled update. I think today's press release was due to the market's reaction to IJ's comments yesterday. Personally, I think he makes similair comments at almost every tech conference he presents at....but the market took it a little differently.

Tomorrow's analyst conference is something that they do a couple times of year. It gives them a chance to talk more in-depth about the strategy of each business segment.

Hopefully, tomorrow will be concentrated on the broader trends for CDMA roll-out and not how this particular quarter is going.
