New York State: $48 million

Special Oversight Settlement Comm. Fund: $2 million

David Komansky, Merrill Lunch's CEO was just on CNBC, being interviewed by Maria Bartiromo. Apparently this settlement deal Spitzer, will have nothing to do with numerous ongoing (or new) "civil" cases against Merrill, such as the class action lawsuit against INSP...which names Merrill Lynch and Henry Blodget as new additional "Defendants."

BTW, it isn't an "absolutely" done deal, that the individual states will each have to agree to this deal. At this point, they could still each file their own criminal and/or civil cases, separately from the many other current (and future?) individual class action cases.
