Any Republican count of 50 or better from the 2002 Senate races will push him over to the other side. If it's close, he can horsetrade like Jeffords. If, as I expect, the Republicans gain a net of 5, he will move simply because he needs to run in 2004. You don't want to be a Dem Senator running for election in the Red Zone against the Bush landslide of 2004.

He probably would have already jumped, BTW, but there's some bad blood back home...
