Can't disagree much except that I think IBM is overvalued right now too. Might be worth a trade, but I can think of better ones elsewhere right now.

Not sure I agree on CF. Yes she's a fighter, but I wonder if she knows which battles are worth fighting and which are not. Right now she's got the huge task of getting the product lines moving again and pushing them forward. As I've posted elsewhere, even basic things like XP support for their all-in-one devices are sorely lacking right now. I won't even talk about customer support for the Pavilions which is, and has been, a major source of customer dissatisfaction. And she's got to make sure that they don't lose customers as the Vectra and Netserver lines disappear. It is hardly a foregone conclusion that the customers buying those products will move over to the new (CPQ derived) product lines.

So there are lots of battles to fight. Most of them are now product or customer focused, and those are areas that she has not spent much time on since taking over. MC may help in those areas, but how they work together and with the divisions remain to be seen.

Bottom line is I see lots of management risk, very little chance of significant market growth in their core markets and a difficult transformation ahead. That's too risky for me other than for an event-driven trade right now. Still watching, still probing, still looking for a good reason to be either long or short. Mostly not seeing any.
