no there are two diferent 2nd generation,3dif 2.5 generation and 1 third(Wcdma Cdma2000 are esentially the same)

BUT the combined GSM-CDMA is where its at.

No 3g CDMA is where they all will be, but in the meanwhille a dual chip that incorporates both will remove advantage of GSM geographic dominenceIE can use 1 cell phone anywhere in the world etc.

NOK is just staying typically to GSM (single tech currently cheaper) standard without fully embracing the combined technology.

no nok has failed to develop the technology and have until recently not bought the chips from Qcom like everyone else.Qcom is Leagues ahead in CDMA. Also all upgrades from GSM are much more expencive and less spectral effient so GSM 1xrt will entice Euro's to bolt NOk bandwagon.
