hi tc ironically, i have been using that very same page ( helpdesk.uvic.ca ) to illustrate what i do NOT have on my puter. suffice it to say that item #5 is not available to me. only Client Service for NetWare. the difference is that i am not trying to reinstall. i removed it. it's gone from my hd. so there is nothing to reinstall. let me show you an excerpted instruction from the practicallynetworked site that cuts to the chase. (even though i wasn't following these steps, it illustrates my problem).... "The most effective action you can take in this case is to remove Microsoft Networking from your PC entirely. (Don't worry, it's easy to restore if you need it.) Just open the Network Control Panel, select Client for Microsoft Networks as shown below, and click the Remove button [mark's note: it doesn't say click the uninstall button. uninstall and install are mere toggles. remove is adios] on the Network Control panel. Click on OK to close the Network Control panel and let your machine reboot. That's all there is to it!" practicallynetworked.com so now you see why i said to former joe...
