The monopoly power Microsoft currently enjoys will lead to its own demise. The typical user is going to get sick of the productivity hit required to upgrade/maintain/recover Windows based systems. Sooner or later we will see product liability suits against MSFT that make tobacco suits look like a distraction. There are no diagnostics, no way to recover data, no security. New products require hours of downloads to fix the "known" security lapses and bugs. Sooner or later the government will kick in the rotting door and burn the source code of Windows!
