Hammer or not, flash recovery or not, AMD is about 2 weeks away from an earnings warning. Add to that all the warning period over the next month and you might be able to get AMD at +20% discount to the current price.

All fair and dandy but book value provides some sort of a support level. I say buy now and write CCs. AMD does not have a good record of warning when they should... Flash will recover and Hammer or not (my guess is not) AMD just might eventually make money. Buying at this range over the last 20 years has been a sure winner. Just don't hold too long...

Mani, Re: "The recent rally into Friday's option expiry was like clock work."

Does this have anything to do with the so-called "max pain" theory of options? I just had a friend explain it to me, and it sounds pretty intriguing.

"Once the summer is over, and market has realized that there is no end of the year recovery in the techs, then it is time to load up."

Agreed for the most part...Can't rule out end of year recovery in techs though...CSCO, AMAT, book to bill ratios have begun strengthening...looks like techs might have begun percolating already...
