Which financial statement are you talking about, pro forma, or the real set of books. Enron's financial statements one year ago looked great, today we all know what happened. It is virtually impossible to document the fine print in a companies derivative position on their financial statement. As we speak, the markets continue to be wary of abx as its price lanquishes relative to the other producers. Even fcx with all of its political risk is beginning to move, while barrick struggles for a .04 gain with gold bordering on a breakout price above 318.00.
