Yes I expect moving expense that is not repaid by my employer to be tax deductible. But my income will be pretty low this US tax year so the potential tax refund is small. I will only be working 4 months in the US. So this year I will be in the 15% Federal bracket.

Thanks for congrats - I will be a tenure-track Associate Prof. - they review me for tenure after 3 years rather than the normal 6 for Assistant Profs.

Here are my current E-Wave scenarios for the NDX:

There is something to be said for both scenarios - the alternative one will take much longer to finally play out.
