It would have been more clear if I'd said "disjointed" which is a more accurate description of how I found your post. Nearly impenetrable and incoherent are also accurate descriptors. Re: "Cambodia, ... not (being) about lies to save ones own ass." and "A covert operation should be denied and that is to protect the lives of those involved." >>> Bull to the first, and as to the second, it certainly wasn't covert from the enemy at the time Nixon went on TV and lied directly to the American public. No, the lie was only aimed at the American people... and Congress, which had prohibited the invasion. Re: "As to the kurds I think wishfull thinking on your part is letting proffer events that did not occur." >>> Bull again. Every fact I listed occured. It's not my fault that you paid so little attention to modern history... or that you willingly blind yourself to facts. What? You don't even watch news shows? The Kurdish massacre was on LIVE TV around the planet, and PBS just broadcast an excellent retrospective of the whole history of American involvment with Iraq... over the '80s, '90s, and up to last year. It included interviews with American pilots flying high cover in the northern 'no-fly zone' who watched as Kurdish civilians were massacred below. Re: "Jimmy Carters instruction to the government of the Shah..." >>> Oh, I'm SURE <g> that the Shah could have held on if we'd only asked him! LOL! It wasn't like he had CANCER or anything! LOL! >>> Far better perhaps, if we hadn't overthrown the first elected government in Iran in the '50s, and re-installed his father as an American-pliant dictator... then a hard-right theocracy would not have arisen at all.
