You said I had overlooked common sense. If anyone introduced an especially arrogant note, it was you. Not that I mind. As for ranting, you have not explained why petrodollars represent some magical source of funding, and are superior to other potential sources. You merely fret over them, and use them as a club to beat the Administration.

Oil is fungible, period. Our refusal to buy Saudi oil means that they will sell it elsewhere. Even if the price drops a little, they will still rake in huge profits. We are not, in fact, the only game in town, especially not at 10% of consumption. Only a universal boycott would have a marked affect, and then the depression ensues, as supply is instantly diminished. Oil prices rise precipitously, marginal businesses are pushed over the edge, costs rise, sales become sluggish, etc.

Your claim to know the wishes of the American people in this matter is laughable, incidentally.......
