The day prior to a holiday is almost always a big winner. The best bet are the two days just prior to a holiday. The best pre-holiday day is the day prior to the 4th of July.

Other times to be long are the last four trading days of any month as well as the first four trading days of the month.

I highly suggest the book..."Stock Market Logic" by Norman G Fosback.

He very clearly explains every theory that has ever been used as a trading vehicle for the last 100 years. He has no axe to grind nor theory to promote.
