Yes it did. Oct. '99 - Mar. 2000.

The last guy I talked to advised me to sell all my AMAT and buy WCG. Didn't do it and I'm glad, WCG went belly up 2 months later.

Nope. But a good value fund like Susan Byrne's Gabelli Westwood Fund (WESWX - she runs it right there in Big D) can add some stability to a portfolio. Over the last 10 years she's been up in all but one year and has outperformed the Naz and Dow 30 without the extreme volatility of the Naz, as this chart shows ...
