Hi wstera_02! Sorry could not get back to your post sooner. Been busy as all get out. We get the goldfinches, too. They are gone now, though. They are here in the winter and move on during the spring. Mrs. RR says we get a rare purple finch. Have you seen one? She puts out a "sock" with stuff on it that hangs down. They will hang off it and sometimes we'll have maybe 5 or 6 at a time clinging to its sides. Wow, you go through a lot of food. 200 lbs per month. We don't put out that much. If I count correctly, we have two huge feeders in the back, one out front, hummingbird feeders hanging all over the place, and numerous bird houses. Our coons are thriving. I was sitting on the deck last night, and they were running up to me when they knew I had the peanut butter and cookies. I'd sit down with two bags of cookies and a jar of peanut butter and they'd be all around me. Many more are tame to me this year. Momma, the matriarch, is still my best buddy. Don't know what I'd do if something happened to her. So happy your ducks came back. I'd love to have some ducks at the pond. Sure hope they stay. wstera_02, ole Buddy, thanks for the best wishes.
