Gottfried, Intel confirmed in their recent earnings release business outlook: "Capital spending for 2002 is expected to be approximately $5.5 billion." ( link: biz.yahoo.com ). I am not aware of any specific guidance from Intel regarding 2003 capex plans. Any "cut" in a 2003 forecast would be based on the analyst's own previous estimate (IMO).

Jacob, Gottfried, Carie and threaders,

Tonight, here in the Midwest, Missouri, I was speaking with a close friend whose son is in high management with Verizon. The father stated his son recently told him that VZ were selling the land based systems and is going to the 3 G cell digital wireless phones. Also, VZ is expanding into the Midwest. Since VZ, SBC and Pacific Bell are using the Qcom platform has anyone heard or got the source for what VZ is doing? What is being sold, etc.?
